This project is situated in the lively neighborhood of Aree. The client requested a home that includes 4 bedrooms to accommodate the family as well as 2 functional offices for work. Additionally, the father of the client requested that the design should be influenced by the existing houses on the plot. We met this request by arranging the windows on the facade of the house as well as the proportions and forms of the windows to emulate the existing colonial architecture. The amount of space on site was limited in size and blocked from most sunlight due to the neighboring buildings. The western facade, being the only facade that is exposed to sunlight, was designed to manipulate the amount of light that can enter the building. Heating can be manually adjusted with a combination of roller blinds and facade integration, making it flexible to the owner’s needs. The project is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2019.
