Bangkok is a city that is rapidly developing and growing, increasing the demand for good-valued residential spaces. The districts located on the outer edges of Bangkok such as On Nut is perfect as the land price per sqm has not yet been skyrocketed. The client would like to build 80 compact apartment units that are catered towards medium-income Bangkok citizens. The narrow and wide room plan of each unit promotes more natural ventilation and allows more light to enter the apartment unit. The main facades itself are oriented towards the north and south direction to lower the exposure to sunlight as it rises and sets in the east/west. The facade consists of solid surfaces that act as canopies for each unit, effectively reducing the amount of heat and sunlight. The corridors are designed with 4 directional openings to maximize natural ventilation and the flow of wind throughout the entire building. The project is expected to start construction in 2019.
